    Default Conecuh

Making a beaufort stew for the wife's birthday tonight. Picked up a couple packs of conecuh smoked sausage to throw in with the rest of the stuff. Anyone ever tried it? Wondering if i should pick up some Rogerwood just in case.

Yeah lived in Mobile, AL for a couple years, very close to Conecuh county (from what i've heard where they started) and used it solely while I was down there. Everyone swears by it there.

While I like Conecuh sausage, there is no substitute for red box Rogerwood in a Frogmore.

Conecuh is good pork product. We grill it and put it in hotdog buns and chow down. Good duck blind snacks

I like some of the their stuff ok. I'm sure I'll be blacklisted from the White Trash Taste Buds Club but I absolutely hate Roger Woods smoked sausage.

I concur. I much prefer Carolina Pride or Hillshire Farms.

Conecuh is OK but not all that great. To kick your beaufort stew up a notch, try Savoie's andouille or if you cannot find it, the Ragin' Cajun brand of andouille is a close second. Might be a bit spicy for some of the ladies though.

I'll second the Savoies but where did you find it?

Publix here in the upstate. WalMart and others carry Ragin' Cajun.
