OK, Stripa. Critique the poor kids' form....

Needless to say, my kids enjoy shooting shit. The dark-haired twin got this bow a few months ago and we finally went to the farm to shoot the 3-d targets. We sat a stand later in the day and had a doe come out at about 75 yards. he took a shot with his bow. It landed about 65 yards short...but it was RIGHT ON LINE.

Connor shoots with a finger tab. Need to get him to cant the bow a little...but he hits what he aims at and doesn't take long to let her rip.

Ryan shoots fingers. Can't get him to stop closing his eye. he is my "type A" kid and will hold at full draw until he is darn sure ready to release.

I have learned the expensive lesson to shoot elevated and with dirt or short grass behind the targets.

    Good stuff man.

Wish I could be one of Toofer's "poor" kids.

That has to be the finest juvi form I've ever seen. Anthropologists have proven the "wave by by" release has become part of the DNA of natural born hunters. It's a communication technique that reaches the spiritual side of archery......sort of a "wassup" to the archery gods...and has been known to yield uncanny results.

We've been working on scouting.....ahum, without 4 wheelers and trailcams P.S. Santa brought Daddy a trailcam for Christmas....(bastard's prolly a compound hunter.)

This past weekend the little gang really wanted to go hunting. So, sittin for skwerls it was. The four year old still thinks I failed him somehow since he didn't shoot any skwerls. The six year old was po'd when we left the woods and still wants to know when we are goin back. I didn't realize little Miss "I want to be Hannah Montana" was such a killer.

    Good stuff Bro

Alex is 9, been shooting for 5 years now and ready for the woods. Gunna try to get a bird this april. He's money out to 35yrds, 80%@45, and 50%@55, but that's better than alot of adults i know. yes, we have a non-pressured hurd in the back yard to practice on. We practice several times a week, it's great quality time without the travel time. His favorite saying now is, "We don't need no stinken guns...." Train em young

invest in a good harness..screw ins are good for stands you plan on leaving in a tree for awhile..if your like me i move stands often..milennium lock on is the best stand made..the big game XL stand is another awesome lock on..summit makes good sticks and so does milennium...i know tom real well he comes into our shop a good bit..he kills alot of deer with the bow..scent lok suits are ok..i use one but i have killed deer in blue jeans and a long sleeve shirt with the bow..biggest factor is play the wind..sit tight hunt hard shoot close is my best advice..
