Default Opening Day Dove Season Request

Hey guys, I am looking to see if anyone that has a small, minimally chaotic field that I could come work my dog on opening day. I'm not looking to shoot, just want to stand beside someone and work the pup. This will be her first season and I want to make sure it starts off right.

I would be willing to pay a reasonable expense for the opportunity, or I can offer you a decent opportunity at some doves in December when our field really gets fun.

    Thanks

He told me to show up at your place?? Do you do lunch before the shoot or cook afterwards? Asking for the dog.

Usually after, unless we hunt sundays. The big sunday meal should be served in the middle of the day.

I'll let you know if Nick can't make it.....

I’d be glad to help you out as I love watching dogs work but the small, minimally chaotic field is not what we have. I can promise you she’d see 6 or 700 die. I could get you in one of the smaller fields or a corner but it will still be quite a few people

Yeah, there's nothing minimal or soothing about our opening month or so.

A friend told me that retriever dove season opened up last weekend, at least by his Snapchats it did. He is in the same boat you are and wanted a "quiet" first hunt for his dog. He said the dog did great and the best thing about retriever dove season is that there are no limits. Admittedly, I could not find that season on the DNR website, but it looked like fun. MG

Conservation permits are the most blatant loophole in our gamelaws but are maintained by the good Ol boy system in cola. That being said, if I were grandfathered in, I wouldn't complain.
