We have a similar Bullpen issue in Atlanta... well that and the sputtering hot/cold offense. Lots of one run losses.

It’s infuriating the braves win by 10 or lose by 1.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Bullpen strikes again…..carried a 6-1 lead into the 7th when the bullpen entered the game. 4 walks, 3 doubles and 1 single later it’s 6-5 going to the bottom of 8…….

Pulled it out. I take the credit myself. I started working on a song in the 7th and knew I had to finish it before the 9th in order to get 3 outs before giving up the lead. I barely made it, lol

    Here she is…….

    “Bullpen”

Well, they beat the drum and rang the phone
    The starter came out today
I’m scared again, there's no spider tack on my hand
Crossin' the OF, I'm headed for the mound
    I’m a wide-eyed, sweatin’ bullets man
Anyone can understand the way I feel

Oh, take me out coach, I'm not ready to pitch today
Take out coach, I’m not ready to pitch today
No not me, I can’t be on this field

Well, I should spend some time in the ADL Nine
    Watching it from the bench
You know I blew some leads
    When I couldn’t throw a strike
So say, "Hey Rag Arm, tell your mama you’re coming home"
Don't say it ain’t so, you know it’s time to go

So take me out coach, I’m not ready to pitch today
Take me out coach, I’m not ready to pitch today
No not me, I can’t be on this field

You got a worn out arm, a weak mind
    And no concept of control*
You know I think it's time you tell this game goodbye
Just hit the road and go on home you had your moment in the sun
It's-a gone and you can kiss this job goodbye

Oh, take me out coach, I’m not ready to pitch today
Take me out coach, I’m not ready to pitch today
No not me, I can’t be on this field

Oh, take me out coach, I ain’t ready to pitch today
Take me out coach, I’m not ready to pitch today
No! Not me!, gotta be off this field*
    Yeah

Ahem....... sweep of the Redbirds for the first 3 game win streak of the season. ( kind of a big deal). Now three at home against the Nats.

1.5 games out. If the damned Phils had not come back in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Nats, we would be in the catbird seat this morning. Knowing the way the season has gone, the Nats will probably sweep us at home this weekend.

Tater .... fickle? Fickle as hell this game is. Song is great. I laughed pretty hard. Sung to the tune of the obvious John Fogerty classic...

Congrats to the Reds on a hard fought win last night.. 7 games off the frontrunner. Don't give up hope yet. Braves would trail the Reds by 3 if in the division. So, there is that for perspective.

Will Crowe (Gamecock) couldn’t get his curveball near the plate and the Reds teed off on the fastball to the tune of 7 runs in the first 2 innings. Then he got his change up working and became unhittable. Gutty ass performance to get their 4 innings. It felt good to see him handle it and I was happy for him (because we had a 7 run cushion, lol).

Gray had a rough 5th allowing 3 infield singles, a couple walks and some hard hit balls. 4 runs. The bullpen didn’t give up anything so that’s a good sign.

But, I declared 7 games ago that we would go 18-2 over the next 20. Well…..we’re sitting at 5-2 so 13 in a row is coming. Be prepared, lol
