Be careful where you step. This could have been bad. The snake crawled uder the stand while it was still light enough to see him. Can you imagine coming down a tree with this at your feet.

nice bow. you know they make them a good bit smaller this decade?

anyway, nice shot. can't be but maybe 5 inches wide at the most. i have NO problems with killing poisonous snakes. that one would make a pretty skin mount.

Nice shot, poor choice of target. Just drop a flashlight or some other object down on top of him and he'll get the hell outta your way.

Or what happens if dropping your flashlight on him just pisses him off and he coils up and waits nearby? Then you're climbing out of the stand with no light and with a mammoth venompacking pissed off snake nearby your stand.

That is ridiculous to suggest that the rattler should not be shot...

plus they are tasty little morsels - just damn strang looking when you skin 'em...

They're docile as hell, leave 'em the fuck alone. The vast majority of people who get bit by rattlesnakes fall into the category of "ignorant people fucking with rattlesnakes".

Let me see if I have this right. Tator would let a 6 foot Timber Rattler crawl down the path he will be using to get back to his truck after dark because they are sweet docile animals that only bite people that step on them in the dark going back to thier truck?

Sorry, Tator but I've been hit by 2 in my life: A Cain Break in a cotton field walking to my bow stand in broad daylight at Santee Cooper WMA and a Cotton Mouth in Wassamasaw Swamp putting up posted signs. You can talk that tree hugger stuff if you want but they will hurt you if you step on them.

Tater, how would it be if you let that one slither away then your pups playing around and gets tagged by it and your hours away from an open Vet Clinic?

Yall dont realize the war this is gonna start if it goes anything like the one a few months back...apparently discussing killing snakes is a lot like discussing politics. The following is quoted from a PM someone sent me because I said kill the hell outta poisonous ones and argued the same thing about stepping on them: “All I can tell your smart ass is to be careful how you talk to me...When you start talking shit it pisses me off and I won't think twice to find you. ....don't fuck with me!”

Good luck with this one, kill em if need be, and take your meds like the doctor says to.
