    Default S.C. Aquatic Plant Management Council Meeting

    S.C. Aquatic Plant Management Council to meet March 27

    Columbia, S.C. -- The South Carolina Aquatic Plant Management Council will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at:



    The Village Round

    Santee State Park

    251 State Park Rd.

    Santee, SC 29142



    The major topic of discussion will be the release of the draft 2018 Aquatic Plant Management Plan for public review. This meeting will be open to the public, and those wishing to speak should contact Chris Page so they can be added to the agenda.

    Items scheduled on the agenda include:



    1) Call to order: 127th meeting

    2) Minutes from the Nov. 13, 2017, council meeting

    3) Public comments

    4) 2017-18 Triploid Grass Carp health

    5) 2017-18 Santee Cooper mapping results

    6) Draft 2018 Aquatic Plant Management Plan recommendations to be released for public comment

    7) Other new Items for council action

    8) April council meeting date

    9) Adjourn

    It's a sad day when the "health" of triploid grass carp is an agenda item.

    Not one mention of Giant Salvinia on Lake Marion / Moultrie

    Sad to see Valisneria (Eel Grass) actually made the nuisance weed list for Lake Greenwood.

    It's sad when the 'management' program is carp. hydrilla on murray is a joke. Thought the meeting was next Tuesday?

    The meeting is next Tuesday. I was referring to the current plan as it's written. No mention of Giant Salvinia, which was found on Moultrie in 2017 and, in my opinion, could potentially make everything else that is an invasive seem like a blip on the radar if it's not eradicated.
