Default Tires - New Set Toyota

I'm in need of a new set of tires for my 4runner 4wd. It's the first set that I've had to buy as the car is new to me. For someone who knows little about tires, what suggestions/brands do you have? I'm in the country a few weekends a month, but not enough to likely justify MT. The thought of ATs is on my mind, however I am in need of some guidance. Thank you.

I’ve always ran the KOs on my Tacoma.

Just put 285 Federal Couragia's on my 04 Tundra, and a 2" leveling kit. They ride very well for a MT. They do rub the A-arm, so plan for a wheel spacer if you go that big.

Thank you all. Great info. I'm reviewing these now.

From a fuel mileage standpoint, if I stay near the stock size, what do you expect to drop mpg wise? This of course varies on a variety of factors, but do you see much of a reduction and if so, how much have you seen personally?

If you're wanting Toyos, I suggest the R/Ts. I have them on my Silverado and they're my favorite tire to date.

Not really any difference. I get 20 mpg on highway.

I put BFG’s on the LC I just bought. No difference in mileage, it’s sucks in them regardless of the tire. But the thing will go about anywhere.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

KRT loves him some Toyo tires.

I'd get a leveling kit and some ATs on there.

Send it to A2Z auto repair. Ask for TOMMY.

I currently have Toyo MTs on my tundra, but I’m on the market now and drive way more highway miles than I did before and I’m looking at those Atturos how do they hold up I saw they claim 45k miles.

I haven’t had any out long enough to answer that question. I haven’t had a single complaint yet.

Love my Falken AT3s. Just don't put load range E on there.
