Default Anybody use a Covington Planter?

We have a Covington TP-46 planter that we are going to use to plant some corn in our dove field this year. For the first attempt, we are just going to be planting field corn, nothing special or fancy.

The recommended plate by Covington for field corn will only allow for a max spacing of about 4 inches and the recommended spacing for the corn is 8 inches. I already asked the co-op and there is not a label on the corn bag with the seed size. There are seed plates for all of the different shapes/sizes (large flat, small round, etc.). I have a call in to Covington but figured I would check here as well. Does anyone have any experience or input as to which plate to use?

You can change the sprocket on the chains and adjust the planting space without changing the plate

I'll send you some more info via text in a little bit

Neighbor uses one and his corn is about 8-10” spaced. I can check which plate sprocket setup.

Just shot your dad a message. I got the sprockets figured out, even doing everything you can with the sprockets you can still only get thier 'field corn' plate to about 4 inches (it is a 37 cell plate). They have about 6 other corn plates for difference varieties and sizes/shapes, just trying to figure out which would be best

Edit: meant to quote you DC
