Love mine, unless I take an older gun on occasion for sentimental reasons it is the only caliber I deer hunt with anymore.

Deadly on whitetails. My favorite caliber. Very little recoil and flat enough. I shoot 117 grain BTSPs.

the Hornady American whitetails and the Hornady SST have both served me well for that caliber

I started deer hunting with one about 5 or 6 years ago and it's pretty much all I take.

    I shoot Hornady as well.

Think of it as a lite 7mm rem mag. In standard deer weight bullets it has almost the same ballistics. Plenty of gun for any North Americain deer.

I would shoot Sasquatch with a .25-06 if somebody could tell me where to find him.

It's capable of killing game much bigger than deer. An aquaintance has a barn full of elk racks all killed with a 25-06 and 115 grain partitions.
I carried mine to Wyoming last month and whacked an antelope with it. It's a mild shooting hard hitting round.

Nice to hear. Most everything I read about the caliber seems to be centered around varmint hunting with it.

If you do your job, it will kill just about anything- and it doesn’t beat the hell out of you which makes doing your job a whole lot easier.

Kills deer better than it “should”. Easy to tame from a hand loading standpoint. I prefer the 100gr NBT. Nosler knew that bullet would be driven very fast and made the jacket thicker to accommodate. I have not had issues with them coming apart. Velocity is around 3300fps. If your gun won’t group the 100 gr. NBT try the Sierra 117. Most folks shoot that bullet. Velocity will be around 3000fps with it.

If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.

It’s the 6.5 creedmoor of centerfire big game calibers.

This particular rifle really likes 117gr nosler partitions. I haven’t seen any factory Sierra game kings for it around town, but I’d love to try them, they have always done excellent work for me in many other calibers.

Are the partitions handloads? Regardless, feed it what it likes.
