    Default Larry Wayne

He's in the hall. Watching a Braves game without 10 on the hot corner will forever be weird.

His baseball career was something . I saw him play a doublehader in Macon when he was in the minors. He played every position on the field . Including pitcher. Still had time left to play the field at Hooter's Macon too.

Well deserved. Back in the day, he was also a stud wideout at Tampa Bolles HS. Looks like he made the right career choice.

    I agree, WELL DESERVED

If I am correct he turned down BB and FSU for baseball

My son is 30 yrs old and grew up loving the Braves and 10, hell his Lab is named Chipper

Ross was at Braves game Chippers last year in Sept when Jones hit is last walk off homerun. That was TRULY PRICELESS to him, still has the video and posted on his FB when HOF was announced

Watched a video this morning and it said Chipper never struck out more than 100 times in a season. Thats pretty damn impressive.

Averaging over .300 from both sides of the plate during his career isnt too shabby either, wasnt like one side of the plate kept his average above .300.

Not a Braves fan (because neither were y'all when they sucked), but not afraid to concede greatness to non Reds players when they deserve it and Larry Dime deserves it. I heard John Smoltz give him the ultimate compliment once: "He's the only hitter I pitched around when he was playing defense....I refused to let batters hit the ball to third base because I wanted him fresh at the plate because I knew he would get me runs".

    Amazing Career.

I wish I could breathe life back in him, if I could I'd hunt him again tomorrow. - Ben Rodgers Lee

I was a Braves fan when Phil Niekro led the National League in wins and losses in the same season. 21-20 that year, I think 1979. I was a Reds fan as well, Pete Rose was my favorite back in the day, and I loved and hated it when the Reds and Braves played each other.

Back when they played a real schedule and none of this inter-league bullshit we would always catch at least one of the Reds 2 series' in Atl. There MIGHT be 6K people there and in the 7th inning you could take your ticket stub to a specified ticket ticket booth and they would give you 2 tickets to an upcoming game
