i was frying some okra, yeah I know anybody can do that. But that's just the start.
While the okra was getting all brown and crunchy, I was eating a peach, now not just any old peach, but a sweet peach from Longs, SC. You know they are much sweeter 'cause of the Waccamaw River water.
Anyhow, it come to me, why not fry 'em !!
Ok, I did a thick batter with plain flour and water. Peeled and sliced the peaches, dipped 'em in the batter and spooned 'em in the 325 oil.
    No, there's more.
In a flour sift I put powered sugar and ground cinnamon.
Ah, I see you are getting the picture. When the peaches were golden brown, I pulled 'em up out of the grease and shook the deep fry basket to drain the excess oil.
Now I done and spread 'em on a paper towel and dusted 'em with the sugar/cinnamon........oh the pictures, hmnnnnn ain't none, I ate 'em toooo quick.
Try it let me know what it done for you.

I have always wondered why people refer to my dog as a "Short Tail Lab"

Damn! A true redneck will deep fry anything!

Last year at the VA stare fair they were selling deep fried oreo cookies, pretty good too.

The heart stopping topper of all fried foods, however, is "chicken fried bacon"...no that's not a typo...

You got to be hard up for an ambulance ride to be chicken-frying bacon. I saw deep fried Snickers bars this fall for the first time, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I do have fond memories of my grandmama's fried fatback though. My grandaddy and I took a few years off our lives on the back porch with a plate of fried fatback, a "pon" of cornbread and black coffee when I was about 7 or 8 years old.

The peaches sound great. I was cooking up some homemade corndogs amd my daughter wanted to cook some chocolate chip cookies. I said go ahead and she did. They were good and she fried a bunch of em for folks. No fat grams either.
