    Default Charleston Oysters

Looking for a place to grab bushels of oysters in the Charleston area. We do a couple get togethers with the work guys and always do oysters and BBQ.

We used to have a guy in Mcclellanville and get them right off the dock when he got back. The fella passed away so just looking to see if yall had someone. Trying to keep it local.

    Thanks

I got some McClellanville oysters from a place on Shem Creek once before. Can't recall the name, but it's right before the bridge on Coleman if you're headed towards Sullivan's.

Yep. Went to a roast a few weeks ago and they had gotten some from the Village, damn they were good.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    You could start a poll.

Damn Gulf oysters have zero flavor, might as well not eat oysters.

I’m sure they pair well with a hard cider.

Best thing u can do with Gulf oysters is take them to Pawleys and let 'em soak for a few days. Get some real flavor to them. That is what we could do when we absolutely could not find local oysters due to closures. Otherwise, eat steak.

BTW, you could soak them damn Gulf oysters in the Sampit behind Cottons' and they sould wind up tasting better than fresh picked from the Gulf.
