Thread: trash can turkey

    Went to a friends house and we cooked a turkey in a steel trashcan. First, prepare the turkey as you would a deep fryer. Mount on a metal pole so he will not fall on the ground. Its works good if you put the pole through a block and lay a grill top over that. Put the big galvanized trash can over turkey. Pile Kingsford charcoal around the base of the can and some on top of the can. Light it, pop a top and chill out for about 1.5-2 hrs. Basically an oven but better.
    collard greens and possum innerds is just as good the next day

    No offense, but I'm not cooking in anything plated - specifically galvanized...
    I don't need my name in the marquee lights....

    That was a one time thing, Just fishing to see if anyone else has done it.
    I don't even like cutting galvanized with the torch.
    collard greens and possum innerds is just as good the next day
