As far as I'm concerned, Sweatman's just south of Eutawville is the best BBQ restaurant that I've ever been to. I've driven 220 miles roundtrip just to eat there. McCabe's in Manning is very good also, but lately its been hard to catch them open on Saturday afternoons. I'm talking about pure BBQ restaurants, not these huge buffets that have everything that you can imagine on the bar.

Hog Heaven in Pawleys deserves honorable mention. Also, for catered bbq, Tidewater Catering with Black Jack BBQ is the place to go in Charleston. Jimmy Hagood's BlackJack Sauce is unbeatable and he places really high up in the national championship each year.

Shealy's and McCabe's are both really good.

I agree with the Black Cloud, it is a bitch to figure out when McCabe's is open lately. Last 3 trips thru there they have been closed.

Don't be afraid to slide into Mike & Jeff's on Greenville's West Side.... BBQ Hot Dog, big thumbs up for a lunchtime change of pace.

...grew up eating Rad Dew's from the IGA

Brown's - Kingstree is hard to beat.

Prosser's - MI makes great sauces.
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.
