Chaps your asses, I know but that's the way it'll be.

May be for nothing though, Clemson might lose this weekend or maybe Jawja does. In the end, this poll is about as relevant as the ones in early August are.
News flash. Defending national championship doesn't mean shit. Neither does the fact that Dabo rushed his qb back on the field and got him a concussion.

Everyone else has to deal with adversary as well. You don't see them whining.

Clemson will be ranked 6th or 7th tonight. Even a Clemson degree can figure out that you need some things to fall your way to get in.

I don't disagree with your ranking, thinking more around 5 though. They win out and they're in though so stop trying to make some bullshit up about how they'd magically be left out. Hell, I hope they're 5/6 until the final ranking, they'll play better that way.

But, here's UGA's path, beat Bama or maybe, just maybe by less than 3, provided Auburn doesn't get you first. You Jawja fans have a very narrow shot, possibly the hardest to even get there.

But again, this poll doesn't mean shit, nor do the rest until the second week in December. I'm sure it'll be real cut and dry then too.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

As a UGA fan, I agree with this completely. After years of let-downs with an abundance of talent, I'm on pins and needles every time that they play. Having to face Bama in the SECCG makes our path tough. I just want them to win the next one...whatever one that may be.
However, I will say that it seems that the culture at UGA may be turning away from the Richt (give away easy games) era.

I honestly see Jawja on the outside looking in when it's all settled, the first window licker. Next year though, all bets are off.

So you want them to be ranked 5th or 6th until the final ranking but accuse me of using magical bullshit? Seems legit.

Clemson certainly has an easier path. But they aren't as good a team as UGA. We can argue what a committee of people will do until we are blue in the face but it's committee of people that aren't bound to computer calculations so that they can make decisions based on how the games play out.

Serious question. If Georgia beats Bama in the SEC championship, does Bama get into the playoffs? Who is number one tonight? Bama or UGA?

I think Georgia is #1 tonight. I think it’s a lot like clemson and alabama last year. Bama was #1 in the ap all year but clemson was #1 in the first ranking. If it were anyone other than bama I would say no. However if anyone does it it’s them.

Who cares who's #1 tonight or the next few polls, they don't and won't mean a damn thing until after the conference championships. Maybe Jawja is a better team, maybe they aren't. You play the first of three common opponents this week. Before you run your mouth too much, you may want to have a common measure.

Tell you what though, Jawja has been playing good ball, haven't had a shit the bed moment yet even. Every team has one during the season though, some are closer than need be wins, some are close losses.

And being ranked #1 in the first poll has been pretty unlucky to date.

I think UGA and Bama are the two best teams, at this point. I think if the 4 best teams are in the playoff, and the SECCG is between those two undefeated teams, and a close game, both should be in. If Clemson wins their games, they will be in.

Edited to add: My mother and maternal Grandfather graduated from UGA, so if Clemson is not in the top 4, I'm on the wagon baby

UGA is better than Clemson? Clemson has experienced 2 years of playoffs and playing big games. Equal rosters across the board. Then Clemson coaches have coached in the last NC and 4 championship. Smart has done well but he is a rookie as a HC. Saban will remind him how far he has to come to get on that level.

Maybe we will get a chance to see in the playoffs. I would love to see UGA and Clemson play this season.

I thought we were talking about the present year. So yeah UGA is a better team than Clemson at this point.

I guess if you want to compare UGA and Clemson history we can do that but that's not going to go much better for you.

To be fair I said this Saturday night while we were winning. That was before all the powers at be at espn said it.

I’ll just leave this right here. Seeing how I was 4 for 4.

I'll give you credit banded. I didn't see it.

I'm happy to see schools from the south dominating the polls and I love the opportunity to see UGA and Clemson in the playoff. But if I was any of the other top ten schools with one lose I wouldn't be happy. It's a huge flaw to consider ranked wins but not unranked loses.

Let's just look at the playoff rankings and one loss team.

Notre Dame lost to #1 but beat #17,24, and 20
Oklahoma lost to Iowa State (#15) but beat #6
Ohio State lost to #5 and beat #6
    Penn State lost to #6
TCU lost to Iowa State (#15) and beat #11

Clemson beat #14 and #13 but lost to an unranked team. They are the only team in the top 10 that has lost to an unranked.

Ignoring the championship games, Oklahoma has a big two weeks with TCU and Oklahoma State. Clemson has NC State this weekend. Georgia has Auburn in 2 weeks. Ohio State and Penn State just have Michigan State left because the big 10 sucks.

But lots of football left. Oklahoma, TCU and Oklahoma State need to beat each other up to take them out of the picture.

Glad to see UGA at No 1, well deserved since Bama has not really played anyone. Not taking anything from Bama but this is the way it should be

ND at 3, I can live with that. However only crock of shit with them is they will not have to play a conference championship game . Not really fair to the others BUT before you SEC boys go throwing them under the bus Bama won the NC one year and was not even a conference champion

Tigers at No 4, kind of surprised me due to loss at Syracuse. Could have easily seen OSU there as well but to be honest it makes sense how it all came out

Still LONG way to go until . I do think Tigers got some help by being defending NC.. Honestly never thought Tigers would be in the mix this year after the players that moved on from NC team. Honestly figured we would be a Top 10 team at best

Agreed that it's cheap that Notre Dame doesn't play in a conf game. But I'd blame that on the ACC since they let them in for basketball only. They wouldn't do it if they couldn't get away with it

But ND has done a good job of scheduling strong opponents. And their SOS will be more than the Big 10 even with a conference championship. Conference championships should be a way to strengthen your schedule not punish a conference that has multiple strong teams.

Are you talking about the year that Bama played LSU in the national championship? If so I don't see your point. How would a Natty game between two teams in the same division compare to a team with no conference championship? Notre Dame was in the Natty the next year playing against Bama btw.
