I'm not familiar with this movie but I picked up a book at a thrift store a couple years ago called Horse Soldiers. It was a great read. Passed it on so I couldn't tell you the author. Judging by the trailer it may be loosely based off that book.

It is, and it is an excellent story. I remember reading about how they rode for I don't know how many hours on horseback and how hard the ride was on their bodies that, upon arriving at their destination, one of the SF guys was unable to dismount. Literally had to be pulled off the horse by his own guys.
These movies are a good way to help remind people that freedom isn't free, but Hollywood can really screw things up when they get too far away from the real account and begin embellishing or making up scenes all together. Hopefully this is one of the better ones.

Sounds like a good book. I always like the books better than the movies they make from them. Like wskinner said Hollywood tends to use too much "creativity" and usually they lose a big a part of the story.
