I called and talked to the person over the land management sometime last year. I was told that they do not actively lease land and the only ones allowed to hunt or those people that either live beside or have land bordering the property... She also said some of it is "leased out" but not really leased out ...... That would also include a lot of that land on the Saluda River.

“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

Another fine piece in an area that, for the short term anyway, still has a few ducks...

There is a certain slough that comes to mind on the Saluda County side of the Saluda River, a few miles below the Hwy. 121 bridge. Around 1990, it was magical.

Ray Nix with Dominion is the one you need to talk to about buying property.
