The 4-16X50 is awesome. I like it more than my 5-20X50. I just wish they offered it in Amber.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

So to summarize what I am reading the Trijicons 2x10x50 for less than 800 bucks is about the best you can get for under a grand. Stepping up to the Euro optics will give me a fewe more mins of sit time but the Trijicon do everything I need. Is the price jump to the euro glass worth the extra few mins for me. That is what I have to decide.

Trijicon 2-10x56 all day long. Sold my nightforce to buy my 3rd trijicon. Best bang for your buck in my opinion. Got both my 2-10x56 trijicons for less than 700 to the door

I gotta give the edge to the Kahles Helia C in the 56mm objective. Every eye is slightly different but for me it stops with the Kahles even over Schmidt. If someone would make tactical turrets for them I just might sell my NXSs as well.

My S&B Stratos put my Helia C to shame. The Helia C is solid no doubt but it's not too much better than the Trijicon. The 4-16X50 Accupoint is a fantastic hunting optic. I don't know why but it gathers light extremely well.

Zeiss diavari is best I own and have looked through. My meoptas are very close, but you asked for the best. The zeiss will get you in trouble if you don't watch your watch. My Schmidt and bender I had sucked compared to the zeiss and meoptas I have.

That's good to hear. I love my 10x but I want to stretch this rifle out a bit further and I hope the 4-16x50 will make for a good compromise between a hunting scope and a long range scope.

I'm not sure if the few extra minutes is worth anything to you but it is to me. My eyes aren't great to begin with. I understand selling a night force for a trijicon as i've never been amazed by the glass in the NF scopes...but they are built very well.

I don't think you'll see anyone selling their top euro optics for a Trijicon. I have heard that Trijicon's customer service is very lacking. Swaro's is incredible and Zeiss was easy to deal with when I swapped the reticle on my Diavari. I've never needed S&B for anything after a purchase but they stand behind what they build.

I'm not sure you had the S&B you pm'd me about adjusted right or maybe there was something off. I've been using it in real hunting applications for a month now, it is my go to rig. Were I to sit as long as I could see, I'd be there all night. I don't own a Diavari yet so I'm not going to make a head to head but I will probably be putting one on my next Sako.

Completely with you here. If you think a S&B sucks compared to a Meopta or Zeiss there has to be a focus issue or something. I've had several Meostar R1's and would rate them slightly better than the Trijicon. In the sub $1000 range the Trijicon and Meoptas are the scopes to beat.

Its all in your individual eye. Most glass on high end scopes are of the same recipe and polish. Its the filters that are different. On a fixed scope as mentioned as being superior which is true there are less lenses for the light to travel through thus better light transmission. However at 8 power you better have a huge exit pupil diameter for dusk light usability lol.

I have run everything including March, Scmidt and Premier (now Tangent Theta) and my eye says Kahles with the old Premier being tied ( should have bought every single LT when they were closing out daggumit). Zeiss Diavari gives my eye a great clear picture with plenty of light transmission at dusk as well but the color filter much like that of the NXS to my eye is a little lacking to poor.. I don't doubt that other eyeballs find other filters slightly better, actually would be surprised if that wasn't the case.

That’s my dilemma finding these scopes all in one place and allowing me t I walk outside at dusk and actually put them up to my eye for viewing.

The specialist for the hide hunt at night for wild boar or for hunting foxes in a baiting place. Suited in particular for hunters using a suitable rifle for any of various hunting situations. The most striking feature of this classic scope is its enhanced performance at dusk. -Schmidt & Bender website description for the fixed 8x56

When S&B tells you they developed an optic specifically for low light you can count on it serving its purpose.

All of their exit pupil specs are listed. Their new Polar model is a freak but it's very expensive.

How do you like the tangent compared to the Schmidt’s or March?

I’ve been eyeing them for a few months now.

So if I want the best the Zeiss Diavari is pretty close to it. If I want to stay under 1k the Trijicon is the way to go ....so I have to decide what price point I want to go with

I found a Zeiss Victory HT 3x12x56 for 1400 at Europtics. I dont mind spending the money for this scope. The only thing that holds me back----is it really 700 bucks better than the Trijicon. And do I gain that much more with the Zeiss?

Make sure it has a reticle you can see in low light. 6, 60, 20 etc. those Rapid z and complex reticles are too fine.

I like a #4, I just shoot them the best for some reason. Having a small dim dot helps too.
