I got XM radio in my truck a couple months ago. I recently upgraded my tuner to the one that can dock in the truck or in a stand alone boom box. I love it. It sure is nice having good tunes in the boat without having to tote CD's and risk ruining them with salt water! It sure beats the banal dribble on the local stations. Two thumbs up.

Good review. We get the Clarion satellite ready receiver in most of our Sea Rays and Whalers. I want to get one in my boat.

I have XM in my car and love it, but I'm thinking of putting Sirius in the truck. It has more sports stations.

I have XM and love it. A coworker of mine has Sirius and as far as music goes, the two are almost the same. Different names for the stations but just about the same content.

The difference is the sports. XM has ACC football and basketball (and I'm hoping baseball) along with Big Ten and PAC Ten sports. The will have all MLB baseball games this year. so if you are a baseball fan that is excellent.

Sirius has NFL coverage witch is great. They also have NBA games. That doesnt intrest me. As far as college I think that they will have SEC coverage next football season.

So Clemson fans XM and USuC fans Sirius.

good luck, if you travel it will be great.

XM rocks! I rarely ever listened to the radio when driving before XM. Now I stay tuned to the Xrated Comedy Channel, Fox news, and a couple kick ass music channels...

And you cant forget LCS's favorite XM channel....TheBoneYard.

The XM is well worth the $10 a month. Now I need to get it installed on my boat.

I think its just a matter of time before these two companies merge, too much expense for the same product and only a small audience, I see a merger coming along with commercials once they team up for added income with no alternative product.

    Boondoggle,

I started with a Delphi Roady but switched to the Delphi Skyfi. The Roady is really better suited for the car because it comes on when the car is powered up. The Skyfi has to be manually powered on each time the car is started. I got the Skyfi so I could yank the receiver out of the truck and put it in the boombox for the boats.

My wife wanted to get me the new portable for Christmas but I balked. It has a built in fm modulator so you can use it in the car and tune it in through the radio.

xm roady 2 is the best one i have dealt with so far.

i have installed several for friends and I like the size of the roady 2. it comes in the package with everything you need. when i got mine you could send off for a free home kit.

it looks good installed. if someone will post it for me I will send pics of mine in my dodge and my wifes in her tahoe. i also got the hardwired fm modulator as the built in wireless one did not suit me.

the ones in my friends gm trucks (built in the factory tuner) are nice but the display and features are limited.

i listen to top tracks 90% of the time.
