My thoughts on “the why” are given in post #77. But also your own reasoning is given in your post #75.
to paraphrase: you can’t just leave after a term or two because you have to be in there several to obtain a more powerful position, its an unspoken rule.
    - the never ending cycle of “well i couldn’t get my plans through YET, i just need another term to get them done.”

Quite often you let your slimeball politician side show through your words. It happens all the time and you dont even realize that you have done it.

“DoubleSprig, thanks for your support .” - clearly stated that I do not and would not support you if I could.
“Sprig, are you stupid or something?” - thats your paper tiger to tear down, therefore, go screw yourself while you’re at it.

What is it about being in politics that ruins a man?

Until the we are term limited it is a waste of time to serve a couple terms. Power comes from attaining leadership roles. Your district benefits from a powerful legislator. Power does not come from your one vote. It comes from setting policies.

In my opinion under the current system you better plan on serving a minimum of 10 years if you are going to bring about meaningful statewide changes or “your share” to your district.
