Water heater and extra water tank are two very different things. Plus most w heaters output from the top so gravity isn't going to help you.

The chinaman is not the issue here, dude. The reserve water in the attic is for the two story water bong. How else are you gonna get it up that high? Duh.

The water heaters may have the discharge pipe running out of the top, but the discharge pipe goes almost to the bottom internally.

Steelin', it sounds like you want a second water heater in-line, but when you lose power you'll still need a genset to boost the water pressure. If you're insistent on putting it in the attic, you'll have to do some serious reinforcement of the joists.

Tim, the weight of a gallon of water is more like 8.3 lbs, so a 30 gallon heater might weigh an easy 300 lbs loaded.

Hook up one of them Millers and be done with it. Remote start from house. Let it run the well, water heater and rent it from your company for a tax write off

Would it not have the siphon effect?

Doubt it. Now, you could hook a hose to the drain on the bottom and get some hot water

Buy a pallet of water bottles from Sam's for $25. Store it in your attic/a large closet/garage. Pop cap, invert bottle, and gravity will feed Deer Park water from the bottle to whatever you pour it on/in. Spend a little extra to get bottles with the sport nozzle and you can efficiently rinse soap from your taint in the standing position.

No, it wouldn't. It would only have what pressure would be in the tank from the weight of the water above the outlet pipe inlet.

Maybe some, but it also depends on how high above the tank you are expecting the water to feed. You could test it by shutting off your power and check out all your scenarios.

Less than a gallon. You'd have to relieve the pressure in the tank.

Keep up. The power is out. No pump, no hot water.

The thought of water in the attic just sounds like future damage....

    Yep,

We replaced all the hardwood floors in a house a couple of of years ago due to the water heating busting in the attic while the homeowners were on vacation
