How hard is it to just hook your genset up and run the well pump? I assume pretty difficult since 8 hours without power isn't a reason to do it.

Because running a genset draws lots of attention! He may not like his neighbors.
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.

Wait, I know, buy a transfer tank and put it in the back of your 3/4 ton. You can plumb up a hose to run upstairs and just pump water up there off the truck battery.

    Or, a genset

Edit, this does you no good in case of an EMP. Then again, neither does a genset, so you're screwed either way....

Dhall has a 350 gal for like $20 if you don't mind a little anti-freeze.

Still gonna need a genset or paper rock scissors to see who runs the hand pump.

Antifreeze will be good if it's in the attic

Shit, get you a Sawyer filter and it'll take that antifreeze right out......
