Default Summerducks with some squash and figs

Grilled summerduck breasts, some mashed butternut, and a fig sauce. I liked it.

Unfair. I didn't want to cook for myself tonight.... so I ate some nasty food. Only to see this. I bet that was a delicious repast.

Ha, it was. I'm still eating, my two oldest kids fixed their own dinner. My youngest and wife are under the weather... And I freeze them in bags of three ducks. Thanks

I will not refuse assistance with cooking for our upcoming wildgame supper.

I did some teriyaki/sriracha chicken quarters on the grill w/ sweet taters, and broccoli.

Not nearly as fancy, but damn it was good. Also, it was nice to get back on that grill after a 2 year hiatus.

I'm not a huge fan of duck, but you've served me some great stuff before; I'm sure I'd enjoy that, too. Looks divine.

Looks good Ralph. I was wondering if you have been using that new kitchen much.

There were three ducks worth of breasts so that's two and whatever I didn't eat while slicing. The next two halves just went straight on plate with the rest of the "sauce". I've got a couple few more bags of limits left.

Looks very good. Do you have to stick your pinky out when eating them that way?

Usually double batter them in buttermilk and flour and fry the breast fillets and whole thigh/legs. The legs and thighs can be a little bit tough fried but the flavor takes me back to the my youth when quail were a regular meal through the winter. Lately we've been making a crock pot gumbo with cut up duck breasts, the leg/thighs whole, carrots, onions, dales marinade, other stuff she throws in? and some chicken broth. Cooks around half day and then adds cooked rice towards the end. Leg/thighs turn out very tender from the crock pot. I know a lot of folks toss them but they are some fine flavorful eating.

We made duck confit sandwiches the other night.

    It was delicious.

It didn't have the visual compliments of your dish but it was good.

    Simple, but great.
