Verizon ticked off a lot of people when they did away with that. I don't know why they were being so hard-headed about it.

From what I read, there were a relatively small number of people who were using hundreds of GB's of data. I don't know if they were essentially commercial businesses using their data plans for everything, or people who either streamed tons of stuff, or didn't know how to stop the apps from running full time, but it was enough to throttle others by bogging down the lines.

Throttle after 22 gb of usage.

I just looked at it for my account. One key difference I noticed is the following. Something to be aware of if you have an employer discount.

Your employee discount doesn't apply to the new Verizon Plan Unlimited option.
So I get almost 20% off of the other plans, but it doesn't apply to the unlimited. Currently I get 12 gb with rollover for one month for $64. Unlimited would cost me $110.

I was actually contemplating dropping down to the 8gb plan, but looks like they have done away with the 12 gb plan. So if I went to 8gb and then wanted to go up my only option would be the unlimited. I think I'll stick with what I have.

I have had the unlimited when they first started. They did go up to $50 on me. I think im switching to the straight talk. Alot cheaper and no FEES.

They hit you for data and a fee of you want to tether a wifi hotspot as well. I'm going to look into this tonight. It adds about $80 to my plan. But I could cut Comcast Internet out for good, and stream Apple TV on the boat...

I had unlimited at one point and I let them talk me out of it to "Save Money". Now I'm using 15 gb a month and it's costing me a fortune

    Ditto.

I'm on 8 and considered the 12gig plan last Friday...3 days ago.

    Now it is gone.

I'd go from a current $154 to $211. No thanks. We'll keep our rollover.

I don't have a lot of experience with data plans and usage, so please excuse my ignorance, but how do you use 15 GB per month, or does that include business?

I went today and got my plan switched to the unlimited. I was paying $125 a month for a phone and a tablet with 8 gigs. I upgraded today to an iPhone 7 and unlimited data for $132 a month.

Its not that hard if you have multiple devices on a plan. Or if you using a tablet in the field or using it for a hotspot.

Otherwise the culprit is probably high definition porn.

I'm on a 2gb/month plan. I'm on wifi at home and work. I usually have about a gig of rollover. My bill is $26/month after trading in my old GS5 for a GS7 on black Friday.

Where are you getting a 2 gig data plan for $26/mo?

This time last year I was paying Verizon $400 a momth and had been for a couple years. Finally got internet service and got it down to $140. This new unlimited plan took it down to $114...

The problem I have with Verizon, or all carriers for that matter, is the "monthly activation fee". They will cut it to $20 if I finance a phone and pay $37 a month on top of the $20.. or if I buy the phone outright it's $40 activation per phone.

With the unlimited plan, since I bought our phones out right, would cost us $200/month for two phones..

Currently paying $150 for 2 with 6gb plan, and if I go over its $15 a gig. I usually go over, but we never hit the $200 mark..

Guess my point is they don't reward you for being responsible and not "financing" a phone so I can upgrade every 6 months..

I've been with them over 10 years and not once have they used a "customer retention" program or anything. Any promo they put out is for new customers.. T-Mobile is starting to look better and better..

I've been with t-mobile or whoever they bought out, maybe two companies ago. I'd say at least fourteen years. I'm not good with staying on the line long enough to allow me to cancel, not wanting to switch carriers, numbers, finding new phones, plans, it just didn't matter enough to me. So I've grandfathered into a old plan. The only thing that stunk at the beginning was the coverage, but over the years it's gotten much better. I don't pick up much at my lake house, about the only problem I've had with them. So I called them when we were living there and building, and they sent me a great booster for free.
