I'm in the filling/smoothing phase now. The starboard side is alitttle low, so I've got to build that up somehow but it's coming along.

I still have a lot of work to do but at least it's all one piece again.

you are getting there, just need to fill and fair it out.
Then "color" sand it to be sure it is perfect when near the end.
Spray a light coat of spray can paint on the rebuilt surface and sand until all spray paint is gone..........Google or Youtube it
The final steps will be the difference in the end result looking great or not

I would imagine you could use a body filler or a bondo to fill and level what you need, unless your plant to do it with glass. I've been looking all over classicmako.com over the past few weeks. These guys can straight lay some glass. I have it in my mind to buy a 30 year old boat and build a full transom and Armstrong bracket for it. Glad to see someone else taking on a fiberglass project

I plan on leveling it with a few layers of 1708 and resin. I will say that doing fiberglass work sucks and I hope this is my one and only project with it. I get alot of enjoyment out of doing stuff myself but I'm just ready to be done with this and move onto installing the electronics.

I got to this point and decided to take it to a glass man to finish up. I was running out of time.IMG_5801.JPG

I also ordered new switches and laser cut a new panel.

I will have it color matched in the off season. It will work fine for the summer.

Good job but, I have a feeling you're going to want those Lowrance units back. I had a Raymarine C series in my Mako a while back and it was a PITA to operate. Hopefully they have gotten better. Simrad on the next one for me.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Thanks! Its an E series and I'm not sure which is better but this thing is lighting quick. Those lowrance units can't hold a candle to this thing.
