Caught another big male this morning. He was right at 40 lbs.

I set this trap in a food plot that I've been getting lots of yote pictures. Caught him on a step down double dirt hole set.

Nice job. That first one looked large enough to possibly have some dog blood in him. How much did he weigh?

The 1st was a hair over 40 lbs on my deer scale. The male from this morning was much more aggressive than others I've caught. He would have eaten my ass up if he was able to free himself!

Honestly I don't know. I've got an old buddy, you probably know him, trapping. He asked. He's good, like thirty some odd traps running, and he keeps me up with the kill pics. He's killing the shit out of things. I know he's killed more than my rifle has.

How hard is it to trap a coyote?

My guy does pretty good, it seems easy for him. The big thing with me is time. I don't have enough time in my days to check every one. He's going after beavers also. I didn't have much troubles trapping those when I did.

We've trapped before, but after having a rabid yote attack my dad's lab, then turn on him after being shot.. we kinda went all out.

He looked larger than 40#'s. Might the second one have had rabies, thus causing the aggressiveness?

Can you explain some of the sets you use? What have you had the most success with?

Caught a 20lb female today. Got lucky she was still there...not a very good catch on the rear foot.

20 lbs? Was she emaciated or something? I'd think this time of year, even if she was born last May or so, she'd be heavier than that. No?

She was healthy....she was just a very young, petite female.

HS, one of those smaller yotes looks like a coyote/chow-chow mix!
