Fiance and I just bought a house that will need some wall paper removed, any further tips past what has already been said? Whats the reason for priming with an oil based primer if dry wall is nicked/dinged? House was built in 1969 if it matters and I think all wallpaper is original.

Yep. Wait 40 years and it'll just fall right off.

Or just paint over it. Several times. Like, a lot.

I hate wall paper with a passion. 3,000 sqft house, every room with at least one layer of wall paper, main room had 3 layers. I took down a good bit, hired out the rest. Main room has 20+ foot tall ceilings and it’s approximately 600 sqft. It was a bear.

Wall paper was invented by the damn devil!
If you give 10 people a bag of gold, someone will complain about how heavy it is!
