I am getting this removed today. If anyone near Columbia would like a trailer load of it, I can have it delivered within 15 minutes of Forest Acres. Please let me know ASAP if interested.

This would make great wood for a burn barrel.

SCEG should have cleaned it up too. Have you called them and questioned it?

Always wondered why they can cut those up in such short lengths but can't haul off. Seems would be cheaper to haul instead of the time to cut up

If it was oak they are too short for a fireplace

I called them, they said they never take the tree off the property, I asked the guy from SCEG that was onsite to remove it, he said the same thing and that they had a much of other projects to get to. I asked the contractor who took down the tree he said that SCEG only pays them to take it down not remove it. I offered to pay him on the side to remove while he was there, no luck.

I called back to speak to a manager (which I don't think it was) and the guy said all they are responsible for is removing the tree from the danger of hitting the powerline and that they were not responsible for removing the tree itself.

I felt like I was pissing in the wind at that point and took care of it myself with the help of a buddy and bobcat.

What they told you is accurate; although, they should cut the pieces up into smaller manageable sizes. I probably would have brought that up. If whoever is in charge of the tree-trimming crews gets enough complaints, he will usually start looking for a new crew for that area.
