Great job on the mount. Pretty impressive how quickly you got it done.

    Kilz Primer.

I've done several with it and they have all held up well

Interesting. So it's 'painted' vs. just whitened? No opinion one way or the other, just hadn't heard of it that I know of.

Does it create any issues at all to not wait for the skull to thoroughly dry out, or did you heat it in an oven or anything to speed up the process?

Again, just curious for the Euro mount that I will do some day... I hope.

    Btw, it looks great.

I use a buck boiler to clean the skull, and then hit it with a pressure washer. that usually cleans the skull to around 95%, there may be a few crevices that require a little attention with a knife. I let it hang on a tree and dry overnight. Painters tape the antlers and paint the next day.

It may have a slight odor for a few days (sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't) I've found pouring salt in the brain cavity and letting it sit for a few days can help kill the odor.

I'm sure there are better methods out there but this seems to work well for me. I just started doing my own last year and I've done several for friends as well. A year later and they still look great
