Default The Rut is halfway on.

This one was chasing a doe.

    This one was not.

Buddy killed the bigger one. I killed the other. Two different tracts of land that are separated by a swamp but about 500 yards from one another. My First deer on opening day that I recall. The bigger racked one was 200 on the dot and the other was 205. Heaviest I've ever killed. The deer i killed only had one nut, which makes us think that had to do something as to why his rack and body size are not very proportional.

Good job. That's an interesting theory on the uni-nut. Based upon his antler size, I would have guessed he would be a typical 3 year old, 160 lb deer. Guess I would be wrong.

Yeah idk either. When i shot him all i knew is he had a rack and big ol body. Ive never seen it and neither has my buddy. The processor where we went also said in all of his years hes never seen one with only one nut. But he was a healthy mofo and he had fat like ive never seen on a deer.

Having one testicle has no bearing on body or rack size. That's why God, much like kidneys, give you two. So if you lose one you can keep on truckin'.

    Nice WTBDs.

I think he was doing just fine with one nut. He might have had a little low T and that could have affected his rack. But I bet he's always had one nut and did fine with it.

I've always heard that if they have an injury to the nuts, that they will stop shedding their antlers and grow the crazy nontypical antlers. If I remember correctly there was a case where a buck basically castrated himself on a barb wire. (take a moment to cringe) And he never shed his antlers after that and they just kept growing into a huge mass.

    Nice buck regardless. Congrats
