I think every muzzle loader barrel is different. A buddy of mine's gun shoot power belts good. Mine is all over the place with them. It's like they don't fit tight enough. I can load them with one finger!

If I didn't use bore butter I would break every rod I tried to use while seating the bullet

Maybe my barrel is defective or something. I have never purchased a tube of bore butter. If I used that, the damn bullet would fall out of the end while walking.

You need to mike out your barrel id. That or your pellets od is off, it happens, how does your projectile go down?

Got new screws for my scope base yesterday and was able to shoot it this morning.
This is at 50yds, shot it once at 100yds and it was 1 1/4" high and just a hair to the left, but I have a tendency to sometimes pull left. Only thing left to do is buy a new hammer spur, mine broke the other day

Switched it up from 100'to 150grs of pyrodex this year

I've seen the pellets have a delayed ignition. You hear the cap pop and then the powder ignites half a second later. I've been hunting with muzzleloaders for 20 years and the powder goes bang instantly every time for me so I'll keep using what works.

Gotcha. Yeah I've heard the same thing just never had it happen. If I were to switch from the pellets to the powder would it affect the way it shoots?

I doubt it but I would obviously shoot it first before I took it in the field.

I'm ready to hear the thundering reports of muzzle loaders as the sun comes up in the morning! There is always one or two shots where you go, "I know that wasn't a damn black powder!". Being that it will be opening day, it will sound like small groups of militia encountering the enemy!
