Thanks for the pic Snoop-doggy-Ghetto.

Reminds me of the days when we had Mulberry and Groton down on the Savannah River.

Now all we have is C-pipe killing basket racked 8 pts and bragging about it

I've seen some pictures like that taken at Medway Plantation from back in the day. My great uncle hunted there a lot and has some great stories that I probably should record and write down. Thanks for posting the pic.

Chap, Medway Plantation north of Charleston?? If so, I've been on a kick-ass duck hunt in there. Beautiful place. Lotsa turks and some bass ponds too!

Catdaddy-I found that picture a while back...I wasn't ballsy enough to use it.

Pretty big six point in there eghh? My dad shot a huge seven on that hunt that isn't showing...must be hidden in the back. Just goes to show the size of the deer. Looks like there are 2 minibacks and the rest are pretty mossy.

Great pics, keep em coning. I have a ton of old dog hunting pics that range from the 50's to the 90's. I need to get them scanned in and post some.

Speaking of Fords, my old man had a Bronco that was a 70 something. Had the little bed on the back, kinda built like a jeep. He bought it new to dog hunt out of. Put 35's or so it and pulled it on a trailer to the club. That sucker would go nearly anywhere.

It was cool to drive a Ford, shoot a browning A5, run walkers, and keep a healthy supply of Mountain Dews in the cooler. Those were the good days.

    Dukhntr,

Yes Medway north of Charleston. I have never been there, but he Uncle Dee used to always come back with great stories and has put many a deer down on that property, all running dogs. After the hunt they would go back to Kingstree and cook and hang out at a place called the Red Dog. I have been there, and it was awesome. How long ago did you hunt ducks there?

It was about 5 years ago. I went in there with a younger fella who's Dad was the caretaker at the time. I only went once, but it was a great hunt. I actually found the pond we hunted by boat one day while looking for a new spot. I put in at Bushy Park and we ran right into it.

Medway is in Berkeley County, near Goose Creek isn't it? A friend of mine has hunted there many times - even hunted quail there with Bing Crosby years ago.

I believe that The Red Dog was WD Evan's hangout behind his house. That man sho could cook.

You are correct Wadshooter. Mr. Evans and my Uncle were best friends. They had some times back there! I got to visit there once and they had the set up!
