    Default Ground blind hunting

I've got a couple of new areas that the only way to properly hunt them is from the ground. I normally don't like hunting on the ground. While it's cool to be eye level with the deer, I just prefer to be elevated with a better view of my surroundings. Part of this is that in the past I've had shitty, cheap ground blinds. Anyway, I've remedied that and now I need a proper chair. Have any of you used the Cabelas ground blind chair? It looks like a good one.

No idea on that chair, but I like the normal everyday fold out tailgate chairs. I even take a green one just because.

A turkey vest at the base of a tree behind some cut limbs works well, too.

The tailgate chairs are what I've been using but I want to be able to swivel

I hate a tailgate chair in a blind. Loud and sounds like the world is ending every time you move.

That ainno joke. I use a solid dove stool that I've had since I was 12 in my ground blind. No way I want to have to stay up on my toes in a conventional folding tailgate chair. Can't move side to side. My old dove stool is just the ticket.

I've used a few over the years, current favorite is the 3 legged, fold up dove stool with the back rest. Not super comfortable but functional, main advantage is lightweight and easy to pack. It comes with a carry strap but I tied a longer piece of cord on it to carry slung over the shoulder.

I saw this on the GON site:

    https://www.amazon.com/Dead-Ringer-D.../dp/B008RSVIIK

Lots of good reviews, comfy, quiet, and it pivots. I'm thinking of getting one for the ghost blind

Natural blinds are so much better. I have a couple of the chairs with straps ...kind of like the top of a lock on. Build natural blind in front. Deer dont spook like they do at hub blinds.

tailgate chairs suck for 2 main reasons. arms get in the way and usually sitting lower than windows, depending on the blind. I rarely use a ground blind but if I ever do again that cabelas swivel chair would be my choice. it's 20$ off right now too

I've got two turkey chairs I picked up in the auction here a while back. I'm gonna keep this simple in my ground blind spot. Cut a quiet access trail in, make a blind from natural dead fall, rake out the leaves to make it quiet, and sit. The longest shot I'll get is 40 yards.

Millennium seat and bow cattle panel around the tree and zip tie brush to match surroundings. I have four 5 ft panel sections that I use rather than bowing one around a tree. Works great in remote areas.

If no trees a boat seat on a homemade tripod base.

I'm going with what Smilee said this year. I take one section of my climber to use as a seat on the tree. I have a decent blind as well and really need something comfortable for it. Lemme know what you go with.

Killed my first deer sitting on a dove stool with an 870 and buckshot behind a bush without a lick of camouflage on.

Anything you get will be better than nothing, haha.
