I'd rather work Gunner on retrieves than shoot. A large part of the enjoyment for me is simply watching the dogs do their thing.

Same crew that "felt" like you must be required to use an expandable broadhead to kill a bear with a bow.

I would like to take my dog but I think it will be to hot for my black Lab. Use to take a my yellow Lab then worried about her over heating the whole time.

I'm very careful with Gunner on those hot days. I have plenty of cool water and will throw his ass in my air conditioned truck in a skinny minute if I see the slightest sign of him getting hot. It ain't worth a dog dying over and if he has to stay in the truck for a while during the hunt, so be it.

And I ain't the best shot, but I still manage to kill a few most days. Some days I can't hit the broadside of a barn though.

Bring 20ga shells and and your dog.. You will have a conversation limit that will probably be controlled by the minute..

And even though his name is Gunner, you have to call him Drake where people can hear you..

If I can't find shade I bring a camp umbrella I place in the dirt. I sit on a igloo cooler sprayed black.

Pace your shots to allow rest. Don't let a dog break and fetch other peoples birds. I wastes valuable energy and increases the likelihood of overheating.

Watch your bird fall. Help the dog if necessary to avoid the prolonged search.

Avoid sitting by beans and cotton.

Locate a pond and sit near it if possible.

Massage water into the top of the head.

Restrain the dog and pick up a few if necessary to let it cool down.

I am sure many of you are surprised by this....

Looks like there are a few reps angry at the way this limit change went down. Might spell trouble for the board continuing to have this privilege.

Not sure the general public is very aware of change either.

Q2 The US Fish and Wildlife Service currently allows states to set bag limits that
do not exceed 15 doves per hunter per day. Please indicate your preference for a dove daily bag limit below.

Nothing like ignoring a survey with a sample size of 755 for a sample size of 94 because it says what you want it to...

If anything those surveys show that more research into it is needed if they want to figure out what people really want. It does make you wonder why the surveys came up with such different results, even though the sample sizes are very different you would think the results would still be a little bit closer

Twelve birds are plenty. It lets everyone shoot a "limit" and get out of the field quickly so the remaining birds can feed unmolested.
