    Default 2001 Chevy 5.3L V8

    Z71 4WD mileage 227,416

Found online at a dealer in Irmo. What is expected life of this power train? I need a couple years of daily driver, occasional light towing, maybe 25K miles before I trade up.

    Got a buddy with a 99 with 370k.

Edit: had a motor but that was at 300-something.

Depends on how it was driven. I have 294,000 on a 97 without any major issues.

Depends how it has been driven and maintained during its life. They will develop piston slap when they get some age.

tell the dealer you want a mechanic to give it a pre purchase check up and see what he says.

I had an 02 that had 270k on it. Other than burning a little oil between changes it was flawless. Sometimes wish I still had it
