    Im the first to say I know dick about offshore fishing but 4 dead fish in day 1.2 of the tournament is pretty strong.......i think. I kinda felt bad for the folks that brought in that 416lb dink Felt even worse for the fish!

    I fished that tournament for 12 years straight and I'm telling you it sucks. I had an opportunity to fish on three different boats this year and I'm sitting here at work today by choice. There's something like 175 boats up there right now and they'll catch a dozen, maybe twenty decent fish over the course of a week. That's over 5,000 hours of soaking hooks. Compared to other billfish bites around the world, Moorehead City in June is terrible. The prize money is what brings boats to that tournament.

    And yes, a sub500lb fish is embarrassing to bring to those scales.
