    Default 'Mater Pie et al.

My tomato plants have been putting out like crazy, but I gave my first good haul to my family since I'm about to be swamped in a week and a half or so. I've got single plants with 30 tomatoes in various states of development. Lots of sandwiches so far, figured I'd mix it up. Pay no attention to the blossom end rot..didn't want any more carbs going to them.

    Cobbler

    Brunswick stew

    Foamers

    Name that bream species

And my bass eating a lizard.

Nice, my tomatoes up here aren't even turning yet. In the swamp, they should be close, haven't picked any yet. Rot was bad on most of them.

Younger pumpkinseed maybe, shellcracker maybe, can't tell.

Decoy looks great! What are you going to do to strengthen the foam head and bill? Nail in the bill and burlap / mastic?

I carved about 18 blocks but I'm going to buy heads. Looking for some Can heads if you know someone that might have a few laying around.

It went the way of the dodo about 8 years ago shortly after I justifiably was butchered for posting it. Sorry to disappoint.

Cajunwannabe, the heads, including the bills, are foam sandwiched around 1/4" hardboard. No problems with the bills breaking, but the only decoys that I made that I've hunted over are a half dozen buffleheads that I keep in slotted bags. Doing fine after two years. I've made about 2-3 dozen divers that will see the water this year. Also, that bluebill is a Herters that I eyeballed as a general template.

I think that was a creek redbreast in the sunset picture.
