As far as the Q goes, Hog Heaven is much better, but still a little tangy, to me. Prossers buffet is great though.
Moe's in PI beats them both for BBQ.

    Hite's BBQ is much better.

Shealy's BBQ is lame. But in the "sides" category I'll give them a slight edge mainly because they have more stuff.

But debating the best BBQ restaurant in the Midlands is like debating the best motel in Turbeville.

Thursday nights at Shealy's. Country steak and brown gravy, mashed potatoes. I've been in Lexington for 25 years after growing up on the coast and still haven't gotten used to yellow que. Mustard is for hot dogs and hamburgers.

Good bbq in my opinion does not need sauce.

I used to work in a BBQ joint in Columbia and prefer my Q with a good dry rub, and then can add sauce later if wanted.

Shealy's has red pepper/vinegar based on the buffet as well. That's what I always get. Anymore, I get one good serving of BBQ and hash, but destroy the veggies and fried chicken.

Oh this is cute? They think they are debating BBQ restaurants. Since I don't see Scott's or Big D's i assume that y'all are either debating the best mediocre restaurants, or this whole thread is a joke.
