    Default Dove field help

I have a 13 acre field that I want to turn into a small dove field. There is only one problem, it is infested with tall fescue. This fescue has root clumps the size of watermelons. How would one go about getting this to plantable condition. I have a 75hp tractor, spray tank, bush hog and a 6' offset harrow. Any help would be much appreciated. I am concerned on how to kill it and get rid of the roots.

Bushhog it pretty low, spray with roundup at 3 pints/ acre. Wait 4-5 days to spray, or until after a good rain. Wait a couple weeks. Disc, drag, plant.

This late in the game you're prob looking at millet this yr. gonna take awhile to kill that fescue. Might could burn the dead grass off before discing.
