I'm guessing Alfredo Mendoza's the KRT of water skis?

He wasn’t as good as Dick Pope Jr.

I’ve got a pair of old Cypress Garden Dick Pope Jrs that I ski on every once in a while and you just feel cool when you have them on. The most skittery slalom ski you’ll ever see though.

    Nice ski.

I learned to ski on Dick Pope Jr's on Lake Lure many moons ago. Got up on two and dropped one until I figured out how to get up on one behind an underpowered tri-hull. Good times. My buddy got an O'brian Comp for Christmas a year later and we skiid on Lure in January. Young, dumb and cold. We thought it was the best thing ever.

The Little Monster was the tits and I also grew up and learned to ski on Lake Lure. Had a bunch of them. Was a member of the Lake Lure Ski Club for years. We might have known each other bubba. Our house was on the Island and my younger brother still lives on Lure. Moved down to Murray going on 31 years ago. Got tired of all the yanks moving in but Murray has gone the same way

I still have some almost brand new.

I Took the older ones and took the fins off mounted them all over the lake house.

    Alfredo Is my favorite.

My brother an I were required to clean the shop out one day. We ran across these seemingly wore out dry rotted pieces of wood with some Dude named Alfredo Mendoza.

I told my brother throw that crap in the dump truck.

All of a sudden out of no where. My grandad stood up and started cussing us both out like we screwed his wife.

    We looked at each other.

He said:"you dont know whom Alfredo Mendoza is". "those are classics"

We both looked at each other in total disbelief. Neither of us had heard of Alfredo!

I knew about DickPope, and all the ski's. Grew up on them.

But to this day we still laugh about Alfredo.

So When I redid the lake house I put Alfredo the wall. Along lithesome older Dick Popes. I still have enough to refurbish into an entire room!

I wouldn’t go around talking about screwing your grandma. Everyone thinks you're weird enough already.

Who said anything about my grandmother?

    Man, you jump to conclusions.

How do you know he wasnt remarried?

It would behoove you to slow down and watch sometimes. You may not think everything is a conspiracy.....(A made up term)....You may actually find the truth.

    But carry on.

District tournament weekend. Went 3-1. The only team that beat us plays together every weekend. We hung with them for a while. Big Max went 7-10 with 7 RBIs from the cleanup spot. Couple of them were rockets. Tucker hit the ball good in all 4 games but seemed to hit it right at someone or the defense would make a great play. Not bad for a kid who was supposed to play tball.

Capped off today with a great Father’s Day game. Not much better then seeing 2 out of the 12 kids on the tournament team with your last name.
