Rescued this one from Jake this afternoon.

We went to the farm for a minute and he caught it on our dove field, heard something screaming and he was dragging it to the ground. He lost hold of it and had grabbed it again 2 or 3 times by the time I got over there. Pulled it away from him and locked Jake up in the truck long enough to make sure it wasn’t seriously injured and turned it back loose in the thick grass in the field where he found it.

A few years ago, my dogs got to chasing one around a pond while I was on the 4wheeler. I stopped and called the dogs and the terrier came to heel. The fawn that the shorthair was still chasing apparently understood I was trying to help and ran up between my legs so I could catch the other dog. Once I got the dog by the collar, the fawn loped off to its mom that was watching from the edge of the field. I was amazed the fawn had the presence of mind to sort out who was friend and who was enemy.

The gas dock all the way down is completely redone. The camp side is next.
