Finally got planted yesterday. Was waiting on a rain for the pre-emerg to work. Looks like it is coming today.

Do you already have your beans? If not I reccomend starting to make calls today. They are hard to come by this year.

    VERY hard to come by.

From what I'm told, there's certain groups of beans that can't be had. Period.

Pretty much no maturity groups 6 and 7. And what groups 4 and 5 they do have is pretty well spoken for and they are scraping the floors to fill those orders.

Which pretty much sucks for anybody planting cotton.

The beans will likely shell out while they're still picking cotton.

Throw in any weather event and you've got disaster.

Conflicts with peanuts as well. Peanuts and cotton are a timing nightmare already, throw in beans and we have a mess. To bad with low commodity prices there's not enough margin for contract harvesting.

NWTF had plenty of RR beans but they were low germination like 60%

How are they able to sell RR to their members with out the member signing the contract with Monsanto?
I would think Monsanto would be all over that if they found out.
I mean I don't think NWTF is gonna higher a mad scientist to clone beans in the basement of the meeting hall but Monsanto use to think there was a evil farmer behind every corner.

I may be wrong, but I believe that most of the seed the NWTF sells is left over seed from previous years. I have been told that seed companies will give them their left overs.

Fuck AgCelerate. Those stupid bastards sent me back my tech agreement last week because "grower signature did not match the printed name on the document due to the suffix (Jr, Sr, I, II, III)" though I always sign my name with the Jr. though other than the "D" in my first name, none of my signature looks very legible. Bastards telling me how to sign my name, told the witch on the phone I would just print my name for them instead of signing it since they were going to be pricks about things.

I traded the 13 acres of wildlife food for the rest of the lease. I presume he will be planting beans but he mentioned grain sorghum.

The balance of the crops are his decision.

I do thank the lord for the beautiful rain.
