Best time to go is June or July, typically that is when it is calmest. Watch weather, be flexible, have all your safety gear, and have fun!

We left west palm (sailfish Marina) at 8 and checked in West End about 9:30. Then stopped at Green Turtle for gas and continued to Hopetown. Arrived in Hopetown about 5ish. Stopped a couple times along the way to take a break. Total miles from west palm was 200 (one way).

A couple of kids from Miami rolled over there in a 15' tender boat with nothing but a compass and a half gallon of Bacardi.

These Cubans around here would laugh at this post, I have personally seen them while offshore finishing up their trip through the straights of Florida with nothing more than what looks like hot tub with a 9.9 ho outboard.

“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us...”
    ― Henry David Thoreau
