There are ways around the no wake at IOP going into the harbor if you figure it out at low tide. Thats what a lot of the guys fishing the redfish cup down there do to miss all the slow time in the no wake area. I've made the trip from Shem Creek to the Georgetown jetties to fish a tournament before, and was going nowhere near 70mph and still had plenty of time to fish. Pretty drive too.

They are everywhere you look in Georgetown.
Probably more like 140-160 with the camera and spectator boats.

    I agree.

I also have a case of beer that says running WOT, and putting out almost no wake through the buoys, will draw the blue lights faster than me chugging at idol, and putting out 2' of wake.

110 boats in the tournament not including camera and journalist boats as well as spectators. Some of the camera boats will be putting in at the old ball park landing, at least that's the plan so far. The coast gaurd has been checking people around the rice fields and the bay so hopefully they won't pester the tournament boats to much. I'll be there helping with the weigh in along with some other guys in our bass club. I know there's still some guys planning on making the run to cooper river.

How much fuel do these boats hold? Thats a good clip between G-town and IOP running wide open on what I'd guess about 30ish gallons of fuel. Either that or I don't know much about bass boats

My dad's Ranger z20 has two 24 gallon tanks, I'm not sure how much the Skeeters or Tritons hold but its pretty similar. The boats that are making the run to Cooper River are having to refuel on the trip back.

If it was calm the best bet would be to take the ocean.

I bet some won't, those guys better have a hell of an aeration system to keep those bass alive all the way from the Cooper to Georgetown without being able to pump fresh water in.

That wont be a problem. They can add hydrogen peroxide and keep them alive without any aeration system.

They shouldn't have any problem keeping them alive this week. Now if it was 95 degrees outside it would be a different story.

On a delay. I have never seen so many truck and trailers in that landing at one time. They were stacked up everywhere this morning.

What entertains me the most about these tournaments, are the people that put their boats in and follow these dudes around and watch them fish all day. Watching somebody fish may quite possibly be more boring than watching somebody play golf.......
