    Teal Trapper,
When we go to ND each year, at least one of our dogs or my buddies Labs would get cold tail. I learned of a preventative which is Botswellia (sold at GNC Stores at the Mall). I give one gelcap morning and night for each day we're gone from home (traveling included) and have not not had a reoccurrence. The Lab has to get 3 capsules daily.

Word of caution...they CAN overheat even with water work. Depending on coat/humidity, the water can trap the heat in.

Point taken, MsCSR! I knew that came out wrong when I wrote it....

Tru's back in the saddle, back to work, and loving life once again! The cold tail lasted about three days. I'll recognize it if it happens again, and save a little cash.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions, guys!
