Don't take this the wrong way, but all I can think about when I see that gold top is I hope you fall on hard times jut long enough to call me. MG

My guitar is not the nicest thing to look at. It spent four years at the Citadel in an unconditioned barracks and the Charleston heat and humidity took a toll on it. However, I do have a 1978 big body Ibanez, all blonde guitar that was played and set up by Chet Atkins. It sounds and plays awesome...the clear has some stress cracks due to the heat and humidity but it's still an awesome guitar.

You just brought back some old memories. I had a Stratocaster under my bed at the Citadel with all of the glory of that lone box fan to control the humidity. After one year it was in such bad shape I had to take it apart and refurbish it. So I went ahead and gave it the Van Halen Frankenstrat treatment. Wish I still had that guitar, if nothing else but to be able to appreciate air conditioning more every time I looked at it. MG

The one that I have came from a friend. It's a refin with mostly non original parts, the harness however, is original. It also has a stop bar, which is what I prefer.

Bringing up a very old thread here but had to show it off. According to the serial number it's a 51 ES. Have to have someone else look at it first to confirm. To say I'm tickled is an understatement!!

Speaking of guitar players, sad to hear that Eddie Van Halen passed. He was a guitar genius.

    Yup!

You can see them in many of Page's photos. His book with all he is gear is coming out soon, and I'm sure these will be highly desirable, so I bought 2 of them before the price goes up.

For my puny playing skills the snark is just fine.

They do achieve a higher level of "in tune" if I was setting guitars up all day or played professionally it would make sense to use them, but you do have to set it up every time they are turned on.

So for me a simple snark works fine.

I compared them using a tone generator and the Strobo would get it every time, the Snark would be slightly off depending on which note.
