In this case, it's Nana's Depends that are being taken away from her and given to a drunk buddy so he won't piss himself.

I understand it and agree. But those more familiar with the costs and the situation please chime in, with the max being $100K is that really going to relieve a farmer? Will he back upside down as soon as his relief money runs out?

Also, will farmers who run things under different LLC's or entities be able to get $100K per entity or even if he has five entities can he still only get $100K?

I am still waiting on your answer DT.

Two chuckles in one thread from you heartless bastards not wanting to help a farmer keep from losing his home. Who would a thunk it? Your mother's would be ashamed of you.

I just want to know what the best write in crop would be in order to get my "relief" from my weed stand that got flooded out and molded.

    I'll hang up and listen.

"A female dog usually has 10 teats, though this does not mean she can necessarily provide sufficient nutrition for 10 puppies in one litter. An average litter consists of about five to six puppies, though this number may vary widely based on the breed of dog. Size of the breed is correlated with litter size."

We're a big breed, but there's a lot more than 10 trying to get a grip on one.

Which home? The one at the beach or the mountains?

I hope to hear one of these farmers or politicians talk shit about not buying a GM vehicle because they took the auto bailout.

How many farmers do y'all estimate farm over 4000 acres in SC. I help a farming family with 3hands in the pot. Each one borrows over 1 million to operate, that's to pay land rent, fertilizer, parts, fuel, seed, chemicals and labor. Needless to say they got biggest green tractors and run fairly new equipment. So $40 million divide up amoung the farmers hit the hardest by the flood, which is probably a good many, is not going to save the farm. This years crop prices are going to put a nail in a lot of coffins.

I think that although we can all agree that the flooding last year was a rare event, it has certainly exposed a serious issue with farmers being over extended with regard to their debt/equity ratios. Based on a farmer's income stream, one year of no profits should not put them under, that is not a successful business model in anyone's books. I am not blaming the farmers, it appears they are now in a vicious system which requires this over exposure. But, DT, answer the original question above for me: How is $40 million going to solve the problem?
Seriously? 40 million can't cure a loss of 350 million. It helps.
