    Default Score Prediction Thread

I figure it's about time to start this thread. There's only one game left, so I don't have to clarify what game we will be predicting. It's easy to be smart after the fact, but let's see who is smart before the game.

I'll say that for whatever reason, I've had a pretty good handle on this Clemson team all year. They've been good when I thought they would and they have failed to blow teams out about when I thought that would happen as well. I said at the time that some of what people saw as defensive flaws were actually boredom and tired legs. Oklahoma found that to be true.

The unique thing about this Clemson offense is that they let the defense choose how we will beat them, and we serve it to them their way. Take away the deep ball and we screen you to death. Take Gallman away, enjoy Watson gashing you and vice versa. Take the screens and we throw it over your head.

As for this game, there are a ton of reasons to like Alabama. Very strong on both lines and solid everywhere else. Stud receiver and a game manager at QB. Probably exactly what Saban would choose if he could pick the perfect team. NFL dudes everywhere. Experienced and deep. They are just a damn good team that makes very few mistakes.

All of that said, there is simply something about this Clemson team. They remind me so much of Vince Young's Longhorns in this spot that it's kind of spooky. I think that the national narrative that this is a bunch of scrubs riding a wave of momentum is naive. I can't name more than 1 or 2 starters that I think won't make an NFL roster at some point. This is a very talented football team, and if Alabama doesn't know that noe, they certainly will very soon. This Clemson team firmly believes that they will win this game, and that's a powerful thing.

After all is said and done, I think Clemson can go toe to toe with Alabama. Deshaun Watson has never lost a college game that he started and finished. Somehow some way, I think that continues. We are gonna ride #4 to the greatest season in college football history. To win a championship game, you have to beat a good team. At this point, if DW tells me that a gnat can pull a freight train, I'm getting a damn rope.

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands

I am no Clemson fan but like I told you the other night Boozer, they have some magic behind them. It pains me to say it but they will beat Alabama. For shits and giggles...

33-20 Bama with a late 4 quarter td by Henry putting the game out of reach for the Tigers. I think Watson has very good numbers but struggles in the red zone. Regardless I expect an excellent game.

It'll either be a close game or a blowout.

    27-10 Clemson

Watson never looks spooked or rattled, he is just so calm. Clemson's d should be able to handle the run.

My only concern is that when CLEMSON's offense sputters they start running Watson, that could turn bad quick with one square hit.

23-21 Tigers, Huegel miss an extra point after the first TD, then redeems himself with a 50 yard game winner.

I haven't predicted a score in a while. Will keep the mojo going. It will be close and tough. Roll Tigers.

    31-28 Clemson

    That's with turnovers being equal.

Could be a rout either way if the turnovers are one-sided.

35-31 Bama. I could see either team winnings just going with my gut. Can each team lose by 100, is that possible?

Thinking that you can predict the score of a sports game is comical.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
