Cowboy sucks. Unless you like lots of ash in your cooker and lumps of concrete in your charcoal.

I've had good bags of cowboy and some from the bottom of the truck that were a bit dusty. The bilo brand is pretty good too, bigger the chunks the better. I go through a lot and usually throw away the last 1/4 bag of small bits.

I use the BiLo brand most often, but I like the Royal Oak when I can get to Home Depot.

Is Home Depot the best place to get Royal Oak?

I would highly recommend Kingsford Competition briquettes. Burns hot and clean just like Royal oak. The difference is it last longer and it has less ash.

Royal oak. Just picked up two bags at the Depot for 12 bucks a piece.
