    Default The frustrations......

    .....of bow hunting......

Had a nice 8 walk in to about 50 yards this morning. Stood behind a tree for a solid 10 minutes and then turned and walked off down towards the creek. Never got close to presenting a decent shot opportunity. Might be forced to take the long gun this evening.

I feel your pain. Had a very nice buck cross the lane at 58 yards two nights ago. Watched him circle me at 40 yards behind branches I couldn't slip an arrow through. The two deer that decided to play under my stand were a young six and small doe that may have weighed 130 combined. I'm trying not to take the rifle at all this year though.

Gun hunting is for kids and the elderly.

Might need to move a stand over where you saw him.

He's just looking for does from a safe distance. He's not coming in tomorrow or next week either. Make the adjustment.

I put way to much time and effort into hunting than to limit myself to my choice of weapon. If it's rifle season, I'm sitting with a rifle, end of story. I've killed enough with the stick shooter and enjoyed the hunt but it takes more than I'm willing to commit these days, killing the deer is easy, everything else is a pain in the ass. I dare one to get 50yds of me now.

Taking a gun as a back up ain't bow hunting. I like to take the bow sometimes and the gun sometimes but I won't take both.

I do some tracking for others, most of the others are bow hunters that shoot tacks 99% of the time. Feel free to read between the lines.
